Rockweed Harvesters 2 of 5

Rockweed Harvesters
00247-2 Rockweed Harvesters 2 of 5 is a limited edition collagraph print. It depicts people at work harvesting rockweed, a type of seaweed from the intertidal zone, of the Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick, Canada. This seaweed is used to produce high quality fertilizer and various chemicals. Harvesting the rockweed is labour intensive work, not for the faint of heart. Scenery in the Bay of Fundy area is exceptionally breathtaking. To make the image, the hand cranked press at Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre was used. Fresh seaweed was layered with the collagraph plate, ink and paper, to make this unique print. The excellent framing was done at Mario's Framing, Saint John, NB, Canada.
